Outlook will not update automatically

How is your shared mailbox configured in your Outlook? Auto mapped or as a second Exchange account in the Outlook profile? By "disable cache mode for these shared mailboxes", do you mean unticking the checkbox of "Download Shared Folders" in "Account Settings" dialog? Outlook performance issues when there are too many items or folders in a Cached mode. We are also have same exact issue. Inbox or other folders are not updated with new mails or moved emails in auto-mapped shared folders in Exchange Online environment. To test I have added the shared mailbox as secondary mailbox in Outlook profile, new emails are updated. But that is not a solution to back in I have the same issue. But it will take a long time to recreate OST file if user's mailbox is big, and we don't want to recreate so often.
If we keep as online mode for a while and switch to cached mode, does it trigger to full update OST file? I ended up with user's mailbox is cached mode, but shared mailbox is online mode by adding the registry settings.
We are having the same problem and it's causing major issues between management and their assisting staff - in one case it caused a significant HR issue before I was alerted to resolve it. I'm a member of the Desktop Support team in my company and we're having the same problem with all of our shared mailboxes. Hitting the Update Folder button updates the shared mailboxes, but of course it's not a long-term solution.
I tried all the possible fixes below to no joy. We are having the same issue in our environment after upgrading to Exchange and converting our mailboxes to shared mailbox. It happens only on shared mailbox where user id is by default disabled on AD. Let me know if this works guys as it has worked for me. I did this and now I can't open the PC app at all because it can no longer find the files. None of those fixes worked for me. After 24 hours, I realized my inbox had stopped updating after I had a large file 40Mb undelivered.
