Questions and Answers. DVR problems. Mar 12, Mar 9, Common Bedtime Pause - XFinity. Oct 30, I contacted someone at ABC They are aware of the exact issues we speak.
But, they don't know yet the problem that's causing it. One person they were able to help with the issue by adjusting the antenna, but that's it that I know of. They have my contact information and were much appreciated that I called. But, like I said, they are indeed getting calls. But something happened last night that is preventing signal from getting to a lot of people. They did switch their signal from a UHF to a VHF band, but that's all I know from a channel something that looked like channel 11 to us, to a true channel Hopefully they'll figure it out because the other main local stations appear to be working and UNC-TV is now starting to come in a little better for me.
Though the FCC indicated that they saw little issue last night, as time goes by, we'll probably hear more about the quirks. It'll work out. Just help them help you by providing as much proactive feedback as you can. Mine had been working fine for months, but after Friday, it was really screwed up. Tried several rescans and it didn't help. Mine had a menu item "reset to factory defaults" and after I selected that it erased everything and went back to the inital startup menu.
Then it developed this habit of suddenly blacking out and a grey box would coming saying it was searching. The picture would come back for like a sec, and then black out, gray box, all that again. If I hit the menu, and then go to program edit, the picture would move to a little box on the right, but would fine. But once I exited out of there, you know the drill. It didn't do it with the network channels as long as they didn't specifically say DT next to the channel name.
Anyway, the only thing that seemed to fix the problem was to Auto Search for channels again. That takes minutes, but then it all comes back. Unfortunately, all the personal things I did it, getting rid of unwanted channels we have like 20 sports channels now , and moving channels I like closer together for easier access, yeah, all that's undone, and I have to do it all over again. It's super annoying especially now that instead of just happening every few days, it's every day.
And instead of always happening at the same time, which was am, now it's any old time it wants. What the heck is wrong with this thing? Feb 11, B said:. Thank you! I bought a different box from a different company a few days ago, and same problem.
So, i think you're right about it being a problem with the university. Thanks again! Travo13x Guest Apr 3, Guest Guest May 27, After a power surge, the converter box will not turn on at all. I've unplugged it, replugged it, even changed to a different converter box, but I can not get it to come on at all. Surge protector is fine. I held the on button for 10 seconds, but still got nothing. Any suggestions? It' is connected to an analog tv. Crstdrvn Guest Sep 15, No problems for years, just the occasional channel update needed.
Suddenly my TV in the living room went black. Couldn't get anything. Got out the manual and trouble shooted, checked all connections, disconnected, waited, reconnected Still nothing. And the remote wouldn't work, even after fresh batteries.
Worked fine previously. ABC appears to have silenced their posters. The comments were concerning ABC's lack of signal to those households that have only converter boxes and antennas. None of them were offensive comments not even remotely , yet they were deleted, presumably from someone on the ABC staff. I know for a fact that the user's were unable to delete their own post. Later in the day, there were two comments on one page and one on the other indicating a few viewer's concern that the previous comments were deleted.
Again, these comments seem to only show concern and were not abusive in any way. A few moments ago, I checked again. Those posts, too, were deleted. I don't know about the posts you referenced, but CD generally does not permit posting links to other message boards, so the moderators may have deleted those posts for that reason.
I seriously doubt ABC staff is involved in moderating this forum, although I have heard suggestions that they may have been involved with the Kennedy assassination. Also, discussions of moderator activity are likewise not permitted on CD, so if you post comments about what the moderators are doing, those posts will be deleted.
